Fall 2012 Allied Studio works with Harlem School for the Arts

The Allied Studio, a cross-disciplinary design studio that mixes graduate students from Architecture, Interior Design and Lighting Design, every fall term identifies an actual client and site within New York City for students to analyze and propose new design interventions. This year the class worked with the Harlem School of the Arts; a rich cultural center and significant community anchor that offers classes in dance, theater, visual arts and music for students ranging in age from toddlers to early adulthood.

Please come to the Harlem School of the Arts this coming Saturday, December 8, 2012, 12-1pm, for an exhibition of the work of the Parsons Allied Design Studio. HSA is located at 645 St Nicholas Avenue and can be reached by subway on the ABC or D lines to 145 St or the B and C lines to 135 St.

Sound Designer Charlie Morrow leads workshop with 1st year MFA Interior Design students

People perceive space with many senses. Charlie Morrow gave a workshop within MFA Interior Design Studio 1 to investigate sound and audio experience as a primary consideration in the design of interiors. A video was made to capture the essence of the workshop: sound is an integral element in the design of interiors.
