“Water” Booklaunch & Infrastructure Slam
Saturday November 14, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Kellen Auditorium & Aronson Gallery, 66 5th Avenue
WATERTABLE, a special dining and design event on 12 November 2009, staged by the Product Design Program of Parsons SCE. WATERTABLE featured student-produced tables, tableware, and provisions, recent water-themed thesis projects, a menu conceived by food writer Mei Chin and a water soundscape by composer Melissa Grey (make sure your sound is on). WATERTABLE immediately followed Alphabet City’s book launch for WATER (MIT Press: http://alphabet-city.org/issues/water), and literally set the table for the 24 hour INFRASTRUCTURE SLAM the following day.
All events were produced by Robert Kirkbride, Interim Director of Parsons Product Design.
