MFA Interior Design recently worked in teams to explore designs that call attention to a gradual transition through space and from one space into another. Each team constructed a unique 16 feet by 4 feet wide corridor, creating documentation to show movement through the space, a set of drawings, and assembly instructions. The class explored a wide range of common materials: aluminum foil, tar paper, Tyvek, newspaper, fabric, sheet metal, duct tape, acetate, window insect screening, plastic laminate, cork, linoleum, carpeting and wall paper (sample projects below).
