Three SCE Students Honored at 2014 IESNYC Student Lighting Competition
The work of three Parsons students was recognized at the 2014 IESNYC (Illuminating Engineering Society New York Section) Student Awards. For this year’s competition, students were asked to “touch with their eyes,” suggesting ways in which light can convey a sense of touch. Product design student Esli Teker (instructor: Erika Doering) received first prize for her entry, “Livre Noir,” an interactive book that reacts to touch, emitting a range of colors designed to elicit a range of moods or emotions. Product Design student Huira Koo (instructor: Andrea Ruggiero) and MFA Lighting Design student Tobias Holden (instructor: Derek Porter), received honorable mention; Koo for “Tentacle,” and Holden for “Thumbprint.”
