In the fall of 2010 the 3rd year MArch studio led by Henry Smith-Miller and Scott Teti of Smith-Miller Hawkinson Architects proposed 12 schemes on 2 sites for the design of a Parsons Design Center in Shanghai. The students traveled to Shanghai to study the city and the two distinct sites and returned to Parsons to complete their designs. The studio investigated this ground-breaking program of a design and educational facility in Shanghai as well as the challenges of working on a problem from a long distance away.
