Sana Garner, AAS ID (’16) will star in the new Peacock Original Series, Backyard Blowout.

“In 2013, I changed careers from being a modern dancer and working in communications to studying interior design at Parsons. Prior to starting the AAS program, I wanted to design hotels and spas but didn’t have the knowledge and skills to do this. Parsons taught me design reasoning which I’ve applied to my work in residential developments, hotels and outdoor spaces. I also learned that design can be a tool for social and environmental justice. I’ve put this into action by designing a circus tent for an occupational therapy organization working with refugees, a community urban farm in my neighborhood Ridgewood, Queens, and by managing a daily woodworking workshop in a refugee camp. I’m grateful for my Parsons experience, the design community I’m now surrounded by, and for the opportunity I’ve had to combine my background in performing with design in the upcoming show Backyard Blowout.”
