Diana Erazo, Master of Architecture 2020 alumna, has joined the Harlem Children’s Zone as Arts Specialist with The Employment and Technology Center. The organization began as a one-block pilot in the 1990s, looking to break the cycle and prevent generational poverty. Since then, the organization has been providing better opportunities for children to enter college, choosing a career path, and become productive, self-sustaining adults.
As part of this effort, Diana has been introducing architecture to the students in enrichment classes after school. Here students will be provided with the right tools to understand if architecture is right for them, parents will learn about the importance of arts and architecture for the community, and the required skills as well as professional opportunities they open.
