This year, students participating in Small Things Matter, a third-year product design studio, collaborated with Brooklyn-based design company Areaware. Students were asked to create small, inexpensive gift items that could be purchased spontaneously. As a secondary goal, students were tasked with leveraging the power of impulse consumerism to affect positive change elsewhere in the world by conceptually linking their design to a group of charity organizations set to receive a portion of profits from the items sale. The projects are on display through May 19 at Wanted Design, located at the Terminal Stores, 269 11th Avenue, New York, NY 10001 – See more at Wanted Design.
