During Fall 2017 semester, students in MFA Industrial Design and BFA Product Design worked with the prestigious French furniture store, Roche Bobois, to prototype full-scale seating devices aimed at reinvigorating “the cultural and historical rituals of resting, gathering, and nourishing the body.”

The winners are:

First Prize: The “Plus One” extendable chair designed by Lorraine Chen and Po Yuan Wang of Parsons’ BFA Product Design

First Prize: The “Cairn” stone chair designed by Weiran Chen and George Plionis of Parsons’ MFA Industrial Design

Second Prize: The “Asy” yellow asymmetrical chair designed by Liujingzi Jiang and Lee Chi-Hao of Parsons’ MFA Industrial Design
