Paraguay: Puerto Casado: genealogies (1886-201?)
In June 2016, the School of Constructed Environments in collaboration with the Marie-Curie fellowship program of the European Union, two students from Parsons School of Design travelled from New York to Paraguay. Students participated in an “artists and social scientists in residence” workshop in Puerto Casado, coordinate by Marie-Curie fellow Valentina Bonifacio. For one month students interviewed local inhabitants about their fights for land and for a better future. Students learned about the past in order to imagine the future. Students designed an interactive map that the inhabitants will complete during a workshop this August.
