AAS Interior Design Alum, Alejandro Barrios-Carrero, recently won the James Beard Foundation 2013 Outstanding Restaurant Design Award for restaurants with 67 seats or over. Barrios’ design for the new Miami restaurant, Juvia, was inspired by the city’s nature and architecture.

The James Beard Foundation is dedicated to developing and preserving America’s culinary legacy and potential. The winners will be announced on Monday, May 6, 2013 at a black tie event at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center.
