The opening reception for the Goethe Institut’s Weltstadt – Who Creates the City? will take place Wednesday, October 1 from 6 – 8 at the Wyoming Building, 5 East 3rd Street. This exhibition explores urban participation and the future of cities in light of challenges such as climate change, migration, and social polarization.
The Weltstadt exhibition includes images, video, and texts from Cities and Citizenship, a conference and series of workshops organized with the School of Constructed Environments, Parsons the New School for Design, the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, and Global Design NYU, that explored how the design of cities can promote a more engaged citizenry by engaging leading designers, architects, landscape architects, planners, urbanists, historians, and scientists.
This program is a part of Archtober, a month celebrating architecture and design in New York.
