Daniel Michalik, BFA/MFA Product and Industrial Design full-time faculty member, has recently shared how the current crisis has shaped and informed his teaching methods and helped bring his own professional practices closer to students. Approaching both teaching and making from a state of scarcity and lack of access to materials and shops can turn not only into an inventive and creative way of exploring the essence of design, but help students reflect on those limitations as new liberating protocols that can push their thinking further and in most unexpected ways.
