SCE’s David Leven and Stella Betts of LEVENBETTS sat down with Joanna Kloppenburg for Architizer to discuss their contribution to Chambers Gallery’s new show, Unpacking the Cube. Titled, Not to Scale, LEVENBETTS’ installation explores one shape, a a trapezoidal hollow form composed of thin and very lightweight concrete, which they have been exploring in recent architectural projects. This form has been stacked and arranged in multiple ways throughout the installation, referencing architectural form at all scales: furniture, partitioning systems, and buildings. A series of drawings accompanies the blocks, emphasizing its modular and infinitely scalable nature. The full interview can be found here.
