Join us today for the Interschool Housing Studio hosted by Parsons SCE. As a collaborative effort among six New York metro area schools/programs of architecture, it will allow participants to share best practices in housing studio pedagogy. For spring 2019, the participating schools — City College, Cooper Union, NJIT, NYIT, Parsons School of Design, and Pratt Institute — are offering a total of 13 studios to over 200 students, who will investigate the centrality of multiple dwellings and their related communal facilities in everyday human experience.

Part One features a presentation by Parsons Executive Dean, Joel Towers, along with a student engagement workshop.

Part Two, which is open to the public, begins with a presentation by housing consultant, Karen Kubey, followed by a faculty PechaKucha to reveal the diverse approaches each studio will take, and concludes with an open-mike session to reflect upon the day’s discussions and explore the potential outcomes and future of the collaboration.
