The “Doorknobs: Beyond the Everyday” exhibition opens May 15th, 2019 at WantedDesign as part of NYC x Design 2019. Curated by Sarah Templin and Gregory Beson — Parsons grads in the MFA Industrial Design program — the exhibition will present works by eighteen designers, artists and makers who explore and reimagine the common doorknob from speculative, perforative and practical standpoints.

Seen as a “means to move over thresholds and pass through gateways between interior and exterior; private and public; this world and perhaps another” the doorknob has become the pivotal point of contact and reflection for Rama Chorpash, Evette Chaparro, Allan Wexler, Steph Mantis, Tucker Viemeister and other acclaimed designers.
