Hsieh Ying-Chun, a Taiwanese architect who helps communities rebuild after natural disasters, will visit Parsons SCE to discuss design-build architecture and community based architectural work with the students and faculty of the Design Workshop. Hsieh’s work in disaster relief using local materials and methods and an on-site assembled light weight steel framing system has garnered international attention including this year’s Curry Stone Prize, a $100,000 annual prize competition juried by a renowned panel consisting of experts in the field of social and community based design.
