As part of NYCxDESIGN, together with WantedDesign, Rado will launch, for its second year, the U.S. edition of the Rado Star Prize, which is held internationally to promote the work of young designers.
With the Rado Star Prize U.S. 2017, Rado is looking for innovative ideas on exploring the concept of “DESIGN IS IN OUR DNA: ITEMS FOR EVERYDAY LIFE” – a theme for the imaginative to create a product that shows a passion for the use of materials and design philosophy. Rado is looking for innovative ideas for using new materials in the domestic realm: housewares, decorative items, office accessories, and gift ideas for living spaces. The materials, look or design of the object should be a tribute to the theme of functional design for daily use.
Ten finalists and one winner of the Rado Star Prize U.S. 2017 will be selected by a specialist jury. The winner will receive $5,000 in prize money as well as a Rado watch, and will have the opportunity to display their concepts at WantedDesign Manhattan.

We certainly encourage all of them, as we hope you will do, to take the challenge, submit their ideas and benefit from this great opportunity to be part of NYCxDESIGN, getting support and amazing exposure.
The competition just open this week and closing date for entry is April 3rd.
