SCE faculty member and designer Daniel Michalik is currently leading a cork design workshop at the Penland School of Crafts in Bakersville, North Carolina. In this workshop, titled The Thick Skin,students explore the material properties and possibilities of cork at many different scales. The Thick Skin runs through August 5, and Michalik has created a visual blog documenting the workshop, which can be found here.
