Director of the MFA Lighting Design Program, Craig Bernecker, was chosen to be President of the U.S. National Committee of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) for 2023-2027. In addition to his elected seat as President of the U.S. CIE, Bernecker went on to represent the U.S. at Quadrennial Conference of the CIE. 

Alongside his work with the CIE, Bernecker implemented a significant change to the School of Constructed Environments Light Lab in the purchase and installation of a goniophotometer. This device will aid students and practitioners in the lighting design field in the measuring the photometric performance of luminaires.
