‘Drawn into’ – an Exhibition by Allan Wexler at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rennes

‘La Galerie Art & Essai’ have invited Allan Wexler to exhibit 5 of his architectural works from his ‘Drawn into’ collection on the first floor of the Fine Arts Museum.

Allan Wexler’s work is a blend of art, architecture and design. This first one-man exhibition in France features a number of works showing the artist’s idea of sculpture.

Allan Wexler, Drawn Into Architecture

La dernière exposition de la saison 2010-2011 de la galerie Art & Essai,
intitulée ³ Drawn Into Architecture² est consacrée à l’artiste américain
Allan Wexler. The last show of the 2010-2011 season of the Arthouse
Gallery, entitled “Drawn Into Architecture” is dedicated to the American
artist Allan Wexler. Sous le commissariat de Denis Briand, cette première
exposition personnelle en France de l’artiste, vient questionner plus de
trente ans de création qui combine sculpture, architecture et design.
Curated by Denis Briand, the first solo exhibition in France of the
artist, just ask for more than thirty years of creation that combines
sculpture, architecture and design. Une partie de cette exposition sera
également visible au musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, partenaire du
projet. Part of the exhibition will also show at the Museum of Fine Arts

l’artiste le 25 mai, l’exposition, se tiendra du 26 mai au 1er juillet

Le travail d’Allan Wexler, parfois réalisé en collaboration avec son
épouse Ellen, est caractérisé par une interdisciplinarité qui tend à
dissoudre les frontières entre sculpture, architecture, mobilier et
performance théâtrale. Allan Wexler’s work, sometimes in collaboration
with his wife Ellen, is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach
that tends to dissolve the boundaries between sculpture, architecture,
furniture and theatrical performance. En construisant divers
constructions, maquettes, meubles, vaisselles et autres ustensiles
l’artiste cherche à explorer l’activité humaine et les environnements
façonnés par celle-ci. By building various constructions, models,

Table with walls », « Dry Wall Drawing » et « Body language », présentera
ainsi une large part de la démarche artistique d’Allan Wexler. The
