In her thesis, “Transitional (object) Space”, Catherine demonstrated serious intellectual engagement with Interior Design as a complex manifold of space, time, material, and light. In particular, her project demonstrated how the sense of an interior for us comes about through the practice of the threshold – the “in-between” condition where our gestures, evocative objects, and memories make a space into a place.
