Strategies for the worlds “other” cities, particularly her work on the sustainable urbanization of Nairobi have brought attention to the work of Christine Platt. Her involvement in the UN Habitat Medium Term Strategic and Institutional Plan 2008 – 2013 brings her here to us in NYC. President of the Commonwealth Association of Planners, Vice-Chairman and member of KwaZulu, The Natal Provincial Planning and Development Commission, and previously President of the South African Planning Institute, Christine Platt works with a wide array of Global and Local organizations on issues of urbanization.
