Alexandra Bean and Caroline Kepley, both graduates of Parsons School of Design,
Their collaboration stems from their time at Yabu Pushelberg, where their paths crossed while designing luxury hospitality projects. They discovered the harmony between their interiors, drafting, and industrial design backgrounds and have fostered a partnership that thrives on their intertwined personalities and design philosophies. They have recently launched by comma, their interior and furniture design studio that specializes in commercial, retail, f&b, hospitality, and the occasional residential project.
They offer full-service design scopes guiding clients through initial concepts to final construction and have been working on some exciting projects including an evening wear boutique in Dubai and an anticipated launch of a storage unit for B&T. The intent behind comma was to create space and value for the art of pause – a value instilled in both Caroline and Alex from their time at Parsons. It underscores their understanding that taking pause and giving design the thought and care it needs can lead to spaces that provide positive impacts on their surroundings and inhabitants.
