Despite this year’s limitations and abbreviated framework for the much-anticipated Parsons Festival, the SCE Spring 2021 Exhibition has been able to travel, albeit virtually, providing a chance to share and celebrate amazing student work across all disciplines. In addition to NYCxDesign, ArtsThread x Design Pavilion, NY Now and other festival collaborators, our alumni’s thesis projects have been featured by Dezeen and can be viewed here.
From a shelter that can support victims of domestic violence, to explorations of bioluminescence in design, to remediation and anti-deforestation vessels, the nine selected works demonstrate the ability to re-explore the value of architecture and design by tapping into home locales, available materials, tools and networks of support and imagination while maintaining the empathetic focus on the global agenda and persistent issues of out time.
