TNS’s summer seminar Revealing NYC is pleased to invite you to attend an upcoming lecture on Food and Justice. How, during a crisis, do individuals and communities come together to support and nourish each other? We will hear from the founders of Feed the Frontlines NYC and co-op members from Nuestra Mesa Cooperative BK on their inspiring stories of collaboration, responsiveness, and investment in their communities. Сo-faculty Gyun Hur and So Mak will moderate this conversation.
Feed the Frontlines NYC is a crowd-funded initiative started by the Di Pietro family to feed hospital staff on the frontlines and to bring their Tarallucci e Vino employees and other New York City restaurant workers back on the job. Nuestra Mesa Cooperative BK is a Brooklyn-based kitchen collective. We fundraise for community organizations with affordable, delicious meals of our creation. Our team is entirely volunteer-run and comprises neighbors in and outside the service industry, all with a love of food and community.
