The Rotch, an annual two-stage design competition, awards an emerging professional $40,000 to travel abroad for a minimum of six months, conducting architectural investigations and research of their choosing.

The application process is simple, and all applications are due Friday, January 17. 

Candidates must:

• be US citizens who have obtained a BArch or MArch from an accredited school in the last ten years

Candidates also must have one of the following:

• one year of full-time professional experience in a Massachusetts architecture firm as of January 1 of the competition year

-OR-

• an accredited degree from an accredited Massachusetts school of architecture as of January 1 of the competition year.
