We are very sorry to share with you the news that Aaron Lown, Product Design ‘91, has passed away. On behalf of Parsons, we extend our sympathies to Aaron’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Aaron was a dedicated maker, who started his journey in Parsons’ first graduating class in Product Design. He went on to study at Cranbrook Academy of Art and taught at MICA. Aaron worked closely with his wife, designer Elizabeth Grubaugh, Communication Design ‘88, to establish a Product Design department at Kanazawa International Design Institute (KIDI), Parsons’ former affiliate school in Japan.  

Aaron is survived by his wife and partner, Elizabeth, as well as their two children, Gus and Vivian. He is remembered fondly, and his work and creations will remain important throughout the design community.
