Starling Project makes gorgeous scented candles that are hand poured in Brooklyn, New York and made with American hand-blown glass and cotton wicks. McDavid’s business supports the American economy but also is making a major impact in the life of individuals less fortunate abroad.
Starling Project, founded by Parsons alumna, Sterling McDavid ’15 has donated over $100,000 to UNICEF to fund a solar energy panel in Chad, Africa. McDavid has created a social good candle line that helps provide solar energy to rural communities in need.
The sale of each candle, which retails for $55, helps provide a community with solar energy. There are four different candles that one can pick from. Scents include Juniper + Saffron, Vanilla + Hemlock, Orange Flower + Amber, and Currant + Rosewood.
