The AHDLI, brings together leaders on the frontline of affordable housing design and
development for a two-and-a-half day session focused on innovation and best practices.
Two teams: a Design Resource and a Development Team of developers with projects in the schematic design phase, join forces to create solutions that will impact real affordable housing projects nationwide. The session will help community development leaders put into action best practices in sustainable community design, transit-oriented development, and green architectural design. As a result of the Institute, the BFA AD and ID seniors, led by Alison Mears will be studying affordable housing in Skid Row with graduate students from The New School’s Milano Finance Lab and Rose Architectural fellow, Theresa Hwang from the Skid Row Housing trust, who also attended the AHDLI event.
