The Architecture Unit of the Port Authority of NY&NJ’s Engineering Department is seeking an Architectural Associate to join a staff of architects, landscape architects, and graphic designers working in a multidisciplinary design division on projects within the agency.
The Associate Program is a unique two-year program, which after successful completion, culminates with a permanent position in an Agency that has a profound impact on millions of residents and visitors within the NY&NJ metropolitan region. Associates complete a series of rotations on large- and small-scale projects involving multiple disciplines of engineering and architecture that give the opportunity to see the bigger picture of transportation infrastructure design in preparation for a career as a Port Authority Architect.
While in the program, Associates are partnered with mentors and earn NCARB AXP credits toward licensure. In addition to these development opportunities, we also pay for all ARE testing and provide our associates with a generous tuition reimbursement program. Many of our engineering associates have gone on to become managers, directors and chiefs at the Port Authority.
The 2020 Engineering and Architecture Associate Program is open to students graduating with a professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in Summer 2019, Fall 2019 / Winter 2020, or Spring 2020 in Architecture. The highly selective application process is currently open and closes on October 13, 2019 at 11:59pm.
