Michael Braungart, Cradle to Cradle – Beyond Sustainability, 25 April, Thursday 6:15pm

25 April, Thursday 6:15-7:45pm

The Glass Corner (room 206), 25 East 13th Street

Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart, Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Uni Twente and Leuphana Universität Lüneburg is co-founder with architect William McDonogh of McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry in Charlottesville, Virginia. Together they invented the design concept Cradle to Cradle®, based on the Intelligent Product System (IPS) developed by Braungart’s company EPEA (Environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency). Cradle to Cradle® is based on three principles:  Everything is designed to be a nutrient of something else (waste = food). Everything is produced by renewable energy from current solar income. Everything contributes to diversity – be it conceptual, cultural or biological.

Dr.Braugart will be joined in discussion by SCE faculty Ioanna Theocharopoulou PhD, and Dr. Andres Lepik,

This event is sponsored by the Goethe Institut New York, and hosted by Parsons the School of Design.
