INSTITUTIONAL

Ms. Adelaide H. Gadde Scholarship

This memorial scholarship was established in Ms. Gadde’s name to recognize the outstanding education that her son received at Parsons. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student based on design merit and financial need.

Tom Fox Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Interior Designer and Parsons alumnus Tom Fox, this scholarship is awarded to a BFA ID student annually based on academic merit and need.

Brunschwig & Fils Travel Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student studying at Parsons Paris in the summer studies program to support travel abroad.

Mary Brandt Scholarship

The Brandt scholarship was established in 1982 by Dr. Sterling A. Callisen, the then president of Parsons, with the help of Ms. Brandt’s friends and colleagues. The scholarship is awarded to an Interior Design student based on academic merit.

Starwood Award

This award goes to the winning project by an Interior Design student in the senior class Starwood Hotel Design Competition in the Department of Architecture, Interior Design, and Lighting, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design, Parsons School of Design.

Golden Portfolio Award

This award goes to the student with best Interior Design portfolio in the graduating class as determined by level review evaluations.

Academic Honors

Academic honors are awarded annually to a student for outstanding academic performance in the Department of Interior Design, and Lighting, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design, Parsons School of Design.

Departmental Honors

Departmental honors are awarded annually to a student for outstanding contributions to the Department of Architecture, Interior Design, and Lighting, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Architectural Design, Parsons School of Design.

BFA ID Design Award

The BFA ID Design Award is awarded annually to a student for outstanding achievement in design in the Department of Architecture, Interior Design, and Lighting, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Architectural Design, Parsons School of Design.

 

EXTERNAL

American Association of Interior Designers

The ASID Foundation administers a number of Interior Design scholarship programs including the $1000 Joel Polsky Award, , the $750 Yale R. Bunge Competition, the $1000 Winifred Eno Grant, and the biannual $3000 Dora Brahms Award. For information on these opportunities visit ASID Foundation.

Angelo Donghia Foundation

Named after Parsons alumnus Angelo Donghia, the Donghia Foundation sponsors an annual national competition with a maximum of two $30,000 awards. Eligible students must be entering their senior year in a BFA program. Past winners include Bonnie Wilson in 2005, and Paula Rodriguez and Ling Zhi-Hew in 2006. Students are selected by faculty to participate based on academic performance.

Contract Magazine Interior Design Award:

Contract magazine sponsors a annual interior design awards program which includes a category for student/conceptual projects. Awardees are published each January in Contract Magazine. Parsons’ Interior Design student Bonnie Wilson won the award in 2005. For information visit Contract Magazine Awards.

Decorator’s Club Award:

This annual invitation-only competition is open to students studying BFA Interior Design programs throughout the New York metropolitan area. Multiple awards are given based on a blind jury of professionals. The 2005 Decorator’s Club Education Award was won by Parsons BFA Interior Design senior Soo Min Hwang. Students are selected by faculty to participate based on academic performance.

International Interior Design Association

The IIDA administers a number of scholarship programs through its Foundation. such as the $1000 Lloy Hack Memorial Fund. Eligible applicants must be student members of the IIDA. For information visit IIDA Foundation.

Women in Design Award

This new awards program, launched in 2006, includes the Rising Staraward which recognizes ” a young pioneer who has the potential to change the design world through her work.” The 2006 Rising Staraward was given to Parsons’ BFA ID senior Katherine Bragg. For information visit Women in Design Award.
