Julian von der Schulenburg, SCE faculty and owner of the architectural practice VON, has won the international design competition in Munich, Germany, for a new cultural art center inside two historically preserved, industrial hangar buildings, called the ‘Tonnenviertel’.

AAS Interior Design Alum, Alejandro Barrios-Carrera, recently won the James Beard Foundation 2013 Outstanding Restaurant Design Award for restaurants with 67 seats or over.

AAS Interior Design student, Hirofumi Orihara, is the winner of the Hospitality Design Student Category Award, 2013. His project, The Nature, is of a new hotel typology and was conceived in Studio ID3, taught by Douglas Grieco.
