Parsons Faculty Participate in Panel with Macy’s

On September 19th, 2019, SCE Associate Professor of Sustainable Interior Design Nadia Elrokhsy and SCE Assistant Professor of Interior Design Yu Nong Khew, along with Parsons’ Dean of Hybrid Design Studies, Lidewij Edelkoort, internationally recognized design forecaster, strategist and educator, MFA in Fashion Design and Society Director and Donna Karan Professor of Fashion, Shelley Fox, and textile artist, designer, scholar, and educator, Sugandha Gupta, participated in a panel discussion for the Executive Education Program, a partnership between Macy’s and Parsons School of Design. The panel, Episode 1, TECHSTYLES: The Future of Textiles is… Now, explored how advancements in textiles and their impact on our ecology are shaping and reshaping the role of textile innovation as it relates to technology, sustainability, and creativity. The panel discussion was held at the Macy’s HSQ Auditorium and co-organized by Christopher Lacy, Assistant Professor, Fashion Management, and moderated by Tiago Joao Valente De Galvao Teles, Faculty in the MFA Textiles program. Closing remarks were made by Durand Guion, head of fashion direction at Macy’s Fashion Office.
